I am a Jamaican-born artist based in Chicago. My artistic journey is fueled by a deep passion for creating high-quality, accessible art that resonates with individuals at the beginning of their own artistic explorations.
My inspiration is drawn from the rich tapestry of everyday life—people, emotions, and the seemingly mundane moments that, upon reflection, hold profound significance. I believe that art should be a bridge to conversation, a catalyst for reflection, and a mirror to our experiences. This belief shapes my approach to art, emphasizing relatability and authenticity over complexity and pretension.
Growing up in Jamaica and now living in Chicago, my work is a fusion of diverse cultural influences and personal experiences. Each piece I create is designed to serve as a conversation piece in people's homes, sparking dialogue and introspection. Some of my artworks carry deep, introspective meanings, while others are as straightforward as, "I think it looks cool." This blend of simplicity and depth reflects my philosophy that art is not defined by its complexity but by the connections it fosters.
My ultimate goal is for viewers to see my art and feel a connection to their own lives, to reflect on their personal journeys, and to find a piece of their story within my work. I strive to create art that is both accessible and profoundly impactful.
Art, to me, is a universal language. It should be enjoyed, contemplated, and shared without barriers. I invite you to join me on this journey, to explore, reflect, and find your own meaning in the art I create.
